On the back inner cover of E.B. White's STUART LITTLE I ran
across the following paragraph:
Quote: During his
lifetime, many young readers asked Mr. White if his stories were true. In a letter
written to be sent to his fans, he answered, "No, they are imaginary tales….But real life is only one kind of life---there
is also the life of the imagination. Unquote.
My mind raced. But then, anything is possible. It's
kind of like a parallel life, a parallel imagined life. Isn't it
possible ALL of our life reality starts within the imagination?
CLOUD RIDERS plays
around with this concept. The book is written in the first draft and as of January
2005 my second draft will be well underway.
Ever notice how cloud
shapes turn into different objects and forms? I stepped into my parallel imagined
life and wrote CLOUD RIDERS. Originally geared toward the Young Adult market,
it's evolved into the 12 to 90 crowd. Perhaps I'm underestimating the over 90
folks, and apologize. I might also be underestimating the under 12 crowd, and
that is, of course, unforgivable.
Chances are, if you
liked RETURN TO UKOO you'll like CLOUD RIDERS. Give me a year to receive feedback
on my imagination play.
Meanwhile…Be
happy.
